Visit from Al-Furat Al-Awsat Technical University to CCB

On 10 December 2025, the Centre for Chemical Biology (CCB) welcomed a delegation from Al-Furat Al-Awsat Technical University, Iraq. The group was led by the university’s Vice Chancellor, Prof. Dr. Ahmed Ghanim Wadday, accompanied by their several university deans.

Representing CCB, Associate Professor Dr. G. Veera Singham guided the visitors throughout the short trip, which included tours of several laboratories showcasing the centre’s advanced research infrastructure and promoting potential future collaborations. The session provided the delegation with an overview of CCB’s scientific facilities, research strengths, and ongoing projects.

Also involved in the visit were USM representatives Dr. Siti Mardhiana binti Mohamad from the Institut Perubatan dan Pergigian Termaju (IPPT) and Mr. Mohd Amirullah bin Zainal Abidin from the Bahagian Akademik & Antarabangsa, along with support from CCB lecturers and administrative staff.

The visit provided a valuable platform for strengthening academic ties and exploring opportunities for joint research and knowledge exchange between USM and Al-Furat Al-Awsat Technical University.
