It is with great pride and pleasure that I welcome you to the Centre for Chemical Biology (CCB), Universiti Sains Malaysia. As a multidisciplinary research centre, CCB was established with a clear vision to bridge the gap between fundamental sciences and real-world applications through innovative chemical biology research.

Since our inception in 2009 by the Ministry of Higher Education, we have been committed to advancing the frontiers of science by fostering a collaborative environment that brings together expertise in molecular biology, biochemistry, structural biology, synthetic biology, and natural product research. Our work is driven by a deep curiosity about life at the molecular level and the desire to translate that understanding into impactful solutions for health, agriculture, industry, and the environment.

At CCB, we strongly believe in developing talent and nurturing future scientific leaders. Our postgraduate programs are designed to equip students with both critical thinking and technical skills, while our researchers actively engage in high-impact projects that contribute to Malaysia’s scientific growth and international standing. Our mission is to develop a leading platform for fundamental research in chemical biology, fostering a creative and innovative transdisciplinary research culture. The center emphasizes the development of international and local high performance scientists with a talent and aims to facilitate technology transfer through partnerships.

I want to thank our academic, officers, researcher, administrative staff and not to forget our beloved students from the bottom of my heart. Our success is based on your unrelenting passion for teaching and helping our students and others, as well as your steadfast commitment to excellence.
