Future Scientist Program – Aktiviti Minggu STEM at SK Francis Light
The Centre for Chemical Biology (CCB) participated in the Future Scientist Program held in conjunction with Aktiviti Minggu STEM at SK Francis Light on 21 November 2025, Friday. This meaningful program took place at the school’s main hall, which was transformed into a lively and colourful STEM exhibition space. The event saw full participation from all students, from Standard 1 to Standard 6, who visited each booth with great excitement and curiosity.
CCB showcased an interactive booth featuring simple, engaging science demonstrations aimed at encouraging students to explore STEM in a fun and hands-on manner. CCB staff members were present throughout the day to guide activities, explain scientific concepts, and interact with the students, creating a vibrant and educational environment. Teachers and students also collaborated actively, making the event a dynamic platform for learning and exploration.
In addition to the exhibitions, the program included a cultural performance by the school’s students, who presented a beautifully choreographed traditional dance. Their performance added colour and cultural richness to the event, while highlighting the talent and creativity of SK Francis Light’s students.
A STEM competition was also held as part of the program, and the atmosphere grew even more exciting during the prize-giving ceremony, where outstanding students were recognized for their creativity, effort, and innovative ideas in STEM-related activities.
The event was further graced by the presence of the Vice-Chancellor of Universiti Sains Malaysia, Profesor Dato' Seri Ir. Dr. Abdul Rahman Bin Mohamed, who officiated the closing ceremony. Alongside the Headmaster of SK Francis Light, the Vice-Chancellor presented certificates to all participants and organisations involved in setting up the booths, including CCB and other contributors. This gesture acknowledged the commitment of educators, staff, and partners in supporting STEM education at the school level.
Overall, the program was a tremendous success—strengthening collaboration between SK Francis Light and CCB, nurturing young scientific minds, and celebrating the importance of STEM in shaping future generations.
