CCB Research Management and Administration (RMA) Workshop & Team Building 2025
The Centre for Chemical Biology (CCB) successfully conducted its Research Management and Administration (RMA) Workshop together with a Team Building Program from 31 October to 2 November 2025 at Pangkor Coral Bay Resort, Pulau Pangkor. The three-day program brought together all CCB staff for a comprehensive blend of administrative capacity building, strategic discussion, and outdoor team-bonding activities.
The RMA workshop provided an important platform for staff to enhance their understanding of research governance, financial and administrative responsibilities, documentation processes, and project coordination. Through interactive discussions, sharing sessions, and hands-on activities, the workshop aimed to improve CCB’s internal workflow, strengthen compliance with research policies, and promote efficiency across the organisation.

The program also encouraged staff to reflect on challenges and develop practical solutions for improving research support services, ensuring that CCB continues to uphold high standards in research management.
Complementing the workshop sessions, CCB organised a series of team-building activities designed to foster communication, trust, and teamwork among staff across departments. Among the most anticipated events were the telematch games, where participants competed in friendly, energetic group challenges.

In addition to the games, staff enjoyed a variety of outdoor activities that showcased the natural beauty and cultural richness of Pulau Pangkor. The itinerary included:
- Snorkeling at selected coastal spots
- Beach session at Pulau Giam
- Island hopping around scenic island
- Sunset at Pasir Bogak Beach
- Visits to well-known attractions such as: The Dutch Fort, The Batu Bersurat (Sacred Rock), Masjid Al-Badr Seribu Selawat (Masjid Terapung), Masjid Sungai Pinang Kecil, also known as the Chinatown Mosque

These experiences provided staff with opportunities to refresh their minds, explore unique attractions, and build stronger connections outside the workplace.
As part of the itinerary, staff also had a chance to purchase souvenirs and local products. Stops were made at several well-known spots including Lumut Jetty souvenir shops, Eng Seng Pangkor Foods Industry and Trading, SP Duty Free and Coco Valley.

These visits allowed staff to support local traders and bring home traditional snacks, island specialties, and duty-free goods as mementos of the trip.
The program concluded with a prize presentation ceremony to celebrate the commitment and teamwork demonstrated throughout the workshop. Awards were presented for:
- Best Group – Telematch Activities
- Best Group – Presentation Session
- Consolation Prizes for all participating groups
- Exchange Gifts between staff
- Prize giving for Dr Lau Nyok Sean and Mrs Noorizan for their Innozilla 2025 - Silver Medal (Vanguard)

The ceremony also served as a moment to acknowledge the collective spirit and collaborative efforts of all staff who made the program successful.
Overall, the CCB RMA Workshop and Team Building Program 2025 succeeded in strengthening both the administrative capabilities and interpersonal bonds within the organisation. By combining structured learning with engaging outdoor activities, the program contributed to greater unity, improved communication, and a renewed sense of motivation among staff.
