Official Visit - The Indonesia Institute of Sciences (LIPI) To CCB

5th March 2019 – Centre for Chemical Biology (CCB) received a visit from five officials from the Indonesia Institute of Sciences (LIPI), Bogor, Indonesia.  The objective of the visit was to engage a relationship in research and higher education opportunities in Malaysia through the signing of MoU and MoA between USM and CCB, respectively.  The delegates from LIPI consist of the Dr. Dede Heri Yuli Yanto (Head of RC Biomaterial), Dr. Cahyo Rahmadi (RC Biology, Head of Zoology Department), Dr. Lisman Suryanegara, (RC Biomaterials), Dr. Ikhsan Guswenrivo, (RC Biomaterials), and Fenny Clara Ardiati, (RC Biomaterials).  Professor Alexander Chong and Dr. G. Veera Singham represented CCB for the dialogue between LIPI and CCB.  The visit resulted in an agreement between the two parties to sign MoA for research collaboration in the field of urban pest management in the Indo-Malaya region.  Future collaborative initiatives involving international postgraduate student associate program and genome-based research were also discussed.  The visit continued with a lab tour of CCB before the visit was concluded with a lunch gathering.
