🔬 Centre for Chemical Biology (CCB@USM) admission
The Centre for Chemical Biology (CCB) at Universiti Sains Malaysia (USM) is a is a world‑class interdisciplinary hub combining chemistry, biology, genomics and environmental microbiology. Since its establishment, CCB has served as a dynamic platform for cutting-edge research, collaboration, and innovation in molecular life sciences.
🎯 Core Research Areas
- Genes & Genomes
Characterises genomes of individual organisms or ecosystem communities—especially within Malaysian biodiversity—and explores gene function and regulation. - Structural Biology
Aims to resolve the structures, dynamics, and interactions of biomolecules, advancing understanding of molecular function. - Chemical Biology
Utilises chemical tools to explore biological pathways and discover modulatory molecules. As the Centre's director describes: leveraging “smart use of advanced tools and probes” to understand how molecules influence life. - Environmental Microbiology
Investigates microbial processes in natural settings, exploring microbial diversity, ecosystem functions, and environmental impact processes.
