Biolog’s advanced phenotypic technology provides valuable information on the properties of strains, in addition to species-level identification. Biolog’s carbon source utilization technology identifies environmental and pathogenic microorganisms by producing a characteristic pattern or “metabolic fingerprint” from discrete test reactions performed within a 96 well microplate.

 

At CCB, we have a Biolog Omnilog GEN III Plus Automated Microbial Identification System.The Biolog GEN III Microplate provides a standardized micro method using 94 biochemical tests (71 carbon source utilization assays and 23 chemical sensitivity assays) to profile and identify a broad range of Gram-negative and Gram-positive bacteria. The test panel provides “Phenotypic Fingerprint” of the microorganism which can be used to identify it at the species level.
